What are the ingredients to make M&M Heart Hot Cocoa Bombs?

Chocolate Candy Melts – these are found in the baking section of most grocery stores, and you can find them online at Amazon.

Pink Candy Melts – these are found in the baking section of most grocery stores, and you can find them online at Amazon.

Hot Chocolate Mix – this is found in the coffee section of your local grocer, or you can find it online at Amazon.

Mini Marshmallows – are found in most grocery stores’ baking section, and you can also find them online at Amazon.

Valentine M&Ms Candies – this is a specific type of candy that is found usually sold only during the holiday season (November-February). You may be able to purchase these from your local grocery store, but they will likely be limited in quantity (and cost) until Valentine’s Day comes around again next year.

What do I need to make M&M Heart Hot Cocoa Bombs?

You will also need:

A swirl heart mold (I used: https://www.etsy.com/listing/645179025/type-2-6-cavities-hearts-silicone-soap?) 

You will need a microwave-safe mug or bowl, parchment paper, measuring cups and spoons, swirl heart molds.

How to make these hot cocoa bombs

Melt 2 tbsp of pink candy melts in a microwave-safe bowl, per the directions on the package.

Fill each swirl mold cavity with pink melted chocolate.

Place molds into the freezer for 5 minutes to allow the pink candy melts to set.

Once the pink candy melts are set, remove mold from the freezer.

Place two cups of chocolate candy melts in a microwave-safe bowl. Place in the microwave and melt per the package instructions.

Add about 1 teaspoon of the melted chocolate candy into the cavity of the bomb mold.

Press the chocolate thickly using the bottom of the measuring spoon against the sides of the mold

Repeat with 6 bomb mold halves.

Place bomb molds filled with chocolate in the freezer for 5 minutes.

Remove them from the freezer and gently pull the mold away from the chocolate.

Place about ½ tbsp melted chocolate in the mold and spread this on all the heart shapes. This is the bottom section of your heart bombs.

Place your chocolate-filled bomb molds into the freezer for 5 minutes.

Remove molds from the freezer and gently pull the mold away from the cap for the hearts.

Fill the chocolate cups with 1 tbsp hot chocolate mix, 1 tbsp M&M candies, and 5-6 mini marshmallows.

When all of the heart shapes are iced, pour chocolate melted candy into a piping bag and pipe along one edge of each heart.

Add a heart cap to the top of one of the filled cups. This will close the hot cocoa bomb.

Place the hot cocoa bombs into the freezer for 5 minutes to get them to set, then remove.

Place a small dab of pink candy melts on the tip of the swirl and immediately place an M&M candy on top.

Place the hot cocoa bombs into a freezer for 5 minutes.

How to Use Hot Cocoa Bombs

Place the hot cocoa bombs in a mug and pour two cups of hot milk over the top. Stir the hot cocoa bombs until they are melted. Then, enjoy!

M&M Heart Hot Cocoa Bombs are a delightful twist on typical hot cocoa that are guaranteed to satisfy your loved ones! This is the ideal way to make every cold day seem a little more special. 

Ingredients

  • 2 cups Chocolate Candy Melts
  • 2 tbsp Pink Candy Melts
  • 2 cups Hot Chocolate Mix
  • 1 cup Mini Marshmallows
  • 1 cup Valentine M&Ms Candies

Instructions

  1. Place pink candy melts in a microwave safe bowl and melt in the microwave per the directions on the package.
  2. Fill each swirl portion of each heart mold cavity with the melted pink candy melts.
  3. Place molds into the freezer for 5 minutes to allow the pink candy melts to set. Remove mold from the freezer.
  4. Place chocolate candy melts in a microwave safe bowl and melt in the microwave per the directions on the package.
  5. Place 1 tbsp melted chocolate candy melt into one cavity of the bomb mold and, using the bottom of your tablespoon measuring spoon, press the chocolate up the sides of the mold, keeping it thick but even. Repeat with 6 bomb mold halves.
  6. Place the chocolate filled bomb molds into the freezer for 5 minutes.
  7. Remove molds from the freezer and gently pull the mold away from the chocolate unicorns.
  8. Fill the molds with about ½ tbsp melted candy melt and spread this over the entire face shape of the heart. This will be the bottom cap of your heart bombs.
  9. Place the chocolate filled bomb molds into the freezer for 5 minutes.
  10. Remove molds from the freezer and gently pull the mold away from the cap for the hearts.
  11. Fill the chocolate cups with 1 tbsp hot chocolate mix, a 1 tbsp M&M candies and 5-6 mini marshmallows.
  12. Pipe a little of the melted candy melts along the edge of each heart shape.
  13. Immediately press a heart cap to the top of one of the filled cups. This will close the hot cocoa bomb.
  14. Place the hot cocoa bombs into the freezer for 5 minutes to get them to set, then remove.
  15. Place a dab of pink candy melts onto the tip of the sirl and immediately place an M&M candy on the swirl.
  16. Place the hot cocoa bombs into the freezer for 5 minutes to get them to set, then remove.
  17. To use the hot cocoa bombs, place them in a mug and pour 2 cups hot milk over the top. Stir until the hot cocoa bombs are completely melted and enjoy!
